The Toxins Return

From China to Hamburg - A Globalization Thriller

45 min. 2009 DVD

Every fifth container from Asia opened at the port of Hamburg is contaminated with dangerous toxins, according to experts. There are still no limits to the amounts of pesticides allowed in import goods. Countless containers are treated with nerve gas to protect their content on their journey to Europe. If customs officials in Hamburg detect such a container, they have no legal means to stop it or confiscate its content to protect consumers, although many of the toxins have long been banned in Europe. The toxins can be traced to our clothing and to children's toys. They are a serious threat to public health and yet there are no state controls.
